Quorum is an LGBTQ vocal ensemble in the
City of Boston. We make our voices heard, enrich our community, and forge collaborations with other artists.

Fall concert 2019: "A Quiet Moment"

Join Quorum for our winter concert, where we'll use music to create space away from stress, busyness, and the like. We're embracing the possibility of quiet and gentleness in the darkening season.

The concert will include works of queer composers old and new:

  • A Quiet Moment, Jennifer Higdon

  • Sure on this Shining Night, Samuel Barber

  • O Birds of the Air, from Three Madrigals, Zachary Wadsworth

  • Very Slow Song, Pauline Oliveros

  • Be Like the Bird, Abbie Betinis

  • Margoton va ta l'iau, from Chansons françaises, Francis Poulenc

The concert will be on Friday, December 7, at First Parish in Malden Unitarian Universalist Church, from 7:30 PM to about 9 PM. See the event on Facebook.

About Quorum

Are you queer? Do you love to sing? If you answered yes to both of those questions, then this could be the group for you! Quorum Boston is an LGBTQIA+ choir which performs music by queer composers (often local and living)! We sing a variety of genres and styles and foster an inclusive and intentional community. Our new music director, Justin Murphy-Mancini, is excited to get started, and so we need to hear from you, queer vocalists, composers and supporters!

We meet weekly to practice and prepare for performances a few times per year.

Quorum Boston does not charge its members dues or fees for participation. We do however have costs, and want to be sustainable. If you would like to support us now, feel free to sign up for monthly contributions on our Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/quorumboston . Thank you for your generosity.
